Local 669 Sprinkler Fitters

About US

Local 669 is America's Fire Protection Union. We are a Sprinkler Fitter Road Local with jurisdiction in 48 States to include all of Arizona. We have been around since 1915 and have 15,000 members and will have 17,000 members within the next couple of years.

Sprinkler Fitters are responsible for the installation, testing, inspection, maintaining and repair of Automated Fire Protection Systems. There are over 2,000 different types of sprinkler heads, 90% of what we put in are water systems, but we also install foam, nitrogen, and antifreeze systems. We work with 8-inch pipe and most of our work is overhead. From a 3-foot ladder to 200 feet in the air, we are installing pipe!

You will join our team and become an apprentice. Our five year "earn while you learn;" program includes 10.000 hours of on-the-job training and 1,200 hours of technical instruction. You will work on the job in addition to taking 19 courses online and going to sprinkler fitter school 18 times per year. The training takes place in Phoenix. Every Six months you will advance and get approximately a $2.00 hour pay increase.
