Empowering Individuals, Enhancing Independence
We are a network of agencies that support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). We help our clients remain safe and comfortable with dignity, in their own homes or provide safe, home environments. The ability to maintain a level of independence, stay in familiar surroundings and engage socially within one’s community promotes physical and mental health and well-being. We are now focused on furthering proactive and client-centered care by bringing primary care into group homes where clients live. For example, we achieved a significant reduction in hospitalizations for our clients in Ohio who received home-based primary care (HBPC) in addition to their regular support services in the home. Clients who received HBPC experienced a 57% reduction in hospital admissions during the observed period compared to a control group receiving traditional primary care services.
Quality and Safety Programs You Can Trust
At ResCare, we are dedicated to providing the right care – at the right time – in the safest environment possible. Each person we support receives individualized care tailored to their unique needs and abilities. Our care management tools and programs keep the individuals we serve safe, enhance independence, improve quality outcomes and lower health care costs. ResCare has over 25,000 formal, documented site reviews, as well as approximately 25,000 additional check-in visits per year to monitor client safety, satisfaction and home conditions as well as quality and compliance. So far, five of our largest states (including all of Indiana and North Carolina and parts of Georgia, Kentucky and Tennessee), encompassing over 800 sites of service, have received accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Rehab Facilities (CARF)*, as we work through the accreditation process in each state and nationally, and our behavior therapy supports (under SpringHealth Behavioral Health & Integrated Care) have received a unique national accreditation from the Behavioral Health Center of Excellence (BHCOE)*.
Caregiving requires a special combination of skills. We only recruit the best caregivers – and each ResCare caregiver receives position-specific training - more than 678,000 hours annually. This ensures that our caregivers are prepared for their roles, understand available support and monitor and coach others. Our quality standards for core behaviors are called STARS. STARS standards center on safety, trust, attitude, respect and skilled training to create a culture of care, quality and safety. We work in partnership with 148 states, plans, and payors.

*CARF and BHCOE are organizations that conduct surveys to collectively review an organization’s approach, policies and implementation relating to ethics and professionalism, leadership, legal, financial, risk management, accessibility, strategic planning, performance improvement, human resources (including equitable and inclusive employment practices, and recruitment, hiring and retention practices), health and safety, rights, input from persons served and stakeholders, patient/client intake practices, service delivery, clinical documentation, family involvement and coordination of care, ethical marketing practices, and ensuring the safety of patient/client information.
