POSITION DUTIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Assists with a variety of land use planning projects. Reviews proposed land use changes for compliance with codes, area plans and policies. Provides assistance to the public regarding zoning issues and transportation programs. Drafts code amendments and related corresponding and coordinates projects.

Position Specific Summary
The Planner position at the City of Tucson s Department of Transportation & Mobility supports the Planning Division in all aspects of project and program delivery, including public outreach efforts and data analysis, develops and monitors mode-specific and comprehensive transportation plans, coordinates planning efforts across agencies, and monitors the public art program.
Work is performed under the supervision of the Senior Project Manager.
This position does not supervise.
Duties and Responsibilities
Project Management Support (45%) - Essential
Supports Project Managers in advancing transportation projects through preliminary design, Schedules and prepares for public outreach events, works closely with the Strategic Communications Division to create project-specific communication materials and visualizations, assists with website creation, supports the Project Manager with data analysis, materials review, and research.
Public Art Program (25%) - Essential
Leads coordination of the Department of Transportation and Mobility’s public art program assisting with incorporating public art into appropriate transportation projects. Coordinates with the Arts Foundation for Tucson and Southern Arizona for the Transportation Art by Youth (TABY) program. Maintains public art works.
Plan Development and Review (25%) - Essential
Participates in regional transportation planning efforts on behalf of the Department of Transportation & Mobility. Develops general and/or specific transportation plans. Assists with data analysis, document development and review, consultant management, public outreach and engagement.
Other duties as assigned (5%) - Non-Essential
Performs all other duties and tasks as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Bachelor's degree
Work Experience:
One (1) year of directly related experience
Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.

Bachelor's degree: Engineering, Bachelor's degree: Urban Planning
or a related field.

Minimum Hiring Salary: $29.23
Dependent upon experience, qualifications, and successful completion of any applicable job training**
Full Hourly Range: $26.57 - 45.84 USD

Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. Salary placement is typically between the minimum and mid-point of the salary range.
