Digital Data Scan - Document Handler

Arizona industries for the Blind is hiring for the position of a Document Handler in our Digital Data Scan unit located at 515 N 51st Ave., Ste. 130, Phoenix AZ 85043.

Key duties:

·         Index digital images.

·         Perform some quality control functions such as sorting and organizing electronic files (PDF, Word, etc.) in a file/folder structure.

·         Upload electronic records to online systems.

·         Mail preparation.

·         Prepare documents for scanning.

·         Set-up and operation of a variety of scanners.

·         Standard maintenance (cleaning) of scanners to ensure image quality.

·         Utilize a document imaging software system to perform scanning and indexing.

·         Analyze images for clarity and accuracy.

·         Maintain file structure and organization of documents.

·         Meet department productivity and quality standards.

·         Maintain confidentiality of work-related information and material.

Qualifications:

·         Minimum age of 18 years old.

·         High school diploma or equivalent.

·         Must pass a nationwide background check and drug screening successfully.

·         Possess valid government issued identification.

·         Clerical experience desired.

·         Must be detail oriented.

·         Ability to type 30 words per minute.

·         Ability to operate a computer, peripheral equipment, electronic imaging equipment, and software related to the program.

·         Ability to operate common office equipment.

·         Ability to read, write, and speak English along with the ability to follow oral and written instructions.

·         Ability to work in a team environment and as an individual contributor.

·         Ability to demonstrate positive interpersonal relationship skills in all facets of the job.

·         Ability to prioritize work to meet the goals and objectives with minimal supervision.

 

Working conditions:

·         Professional work environment, ideal for detail-oriented individuals who thrive in a calm, indoor atmosphere.

·         Requires sustained focus on, and operation of, computer-based systems.

·         Stationary position consists of extended periods of sitting and viewing a computer monitor.

·         Frequent and prolonged operation of computer keyboard and mouse.

·         Grasping/feeling with hands, lift/transport up to fifty pounds safely, pushing/pulling equipment.

·         Repetitive body motions may include: reaching/extending, typing, clicking, and scrolling.
