What You Will Do
- Assists with and performs diagnostic, replacement and repairs on, but not limited to: engines, transmissions and transaxles, manual drive train and axles, suspension, steering, brakes, clutches, AC units and electric motors.
- Performs mechanical and lubrication preventative maintenance to include: oil and lube service, coolant system flush, transmissions services, filter and gasket checks, checking of water pumps, thermostats, belts, radiator hoses and clutch fans.
- May be required to perform welding tasks, such as: Carbon Arc and MIG.
- May operate equipment such as: forklifts, cranes, and small mobile equipment.
- Responsible for maintaining Work Orders, a clean and safe work area and performing work area inspections.
- Perform other duties as required.
What You Bring To Freeport
- One (1) year experience in Light Duty Equipment mechanical/maintenance or a combination of education and experience in industrial mechanical repair and maintenance
- Knowledge of basic electrical
- Ability to read and use schematics.
- Must have completed academic and practical competencies required (this includes Line of Progression requirements for internal employees where LOP Exists) and have experience demonstrating the required aptitude. The selected candidate shall demonstrate the ability to apply knowledge and skills while also passing a written assessment where required. This exam is based on skills/abilities and/or academic knowledge; as well as safety.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- ASE certifications
- Knowledge and ability to use various computer aided diagnostic tools
- Experience in automotive and equipment maintenance
- Forklift and equipment operator experience
- Basic understanding of mechanical systems and diagnostics
What We Offer You
The estimated pay range for this role is currently $23.00- $31.00/hour. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance. More details will be shared during the hiring process.
