1947 is when it all started. William R. Hunter began constructing concrete-lined ditches for farmers across the East Valley, forming Hunter Ditch Lining (HDL) a year later. Armando Taddei joined HDL working closely with Mr. Hunter for several years before purchasing HDL.
1961 Armando and his wife, Dr. Mirian Taddei, purchased HDL and founded Hunter Contracting Co. (Hunter). Hunter originally began as a heavy construction company specializing in roads and highways. The business has expanded to include all phases of transportation construction, water and wastewater, bridges and structures, underground utilities and rehabilitation, irrigation and flood control, site development, and park and recreation.
