Your Job
DEPCOM Power is now hiring for an Estimator. In this role, you will contribute to our bottom-up estimating processes, specifically focusing on the civil (site preparation) installation scope of our solar projects. Your contributions will be significant in developing and refining our estimating capabilities to support project execution strategies.
This position is preferably based in Scottsdale, AZ, requiring 10% travel for site visits. For remote employees, this role will involve 25% travel, which includes monthly trips to Scottsdale for meetings with internal teams as well as attending site visits. Please note that this role is not eligible for VISA sponsorship.
Our Team
Join our dynamic team of estimators who work closely with cross-functional capabilities to enhance our estimates and project execution outcomes. We are currently in a transformative phase, implementing a new estimating platform to improve our processes which will further drive value creation from the estimating team focused on delivering impactful outcomes within a project centric organization.
What You Will Do
- Develop and maintain accurate, detailed project estimates from the ground up for civil scopes of work.
- Collaborate with internal capabilities to enhance tracking and data acquisition in the field.
- Assist in building estimate templates that support our transformation to a bottom-up estimating approach. Including being a key participant in developing & implementing mechanical (modules, racking, piles) installation estimate templates to support projects and self-perform teams.
- Identify risks and opportunities within project’s civil scopes and develop strategies to mitigate and capitalize on each project.
- Participate in the development of a new estimating platform and contribute to the team's overall growth and transformation.
- Travel to project sites as needed and create detailed reports to support estimate creation and to inform execution strategies based on knowledge gathered.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Experience in heavy, large commercial, utility-scale solar construction or a related field
- Proficiency in using 3D CAD takeoff software
- Understanding of site preparation complexities and management
- Ability to develop and refine estimating processes and templates
What Will Put You Ahead
- Experience in utility scale renewables construction
- Knowledge of different solar racking systems
- Experience developing bottoms-up estimates to support self-perform capabilities
For this role, we anticipate paying $105,000- $150,000 per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
