Automations and Controls Manager

YOUR ROLE IN THE FAMILY:

  • Maintains a safe and secure work environment, including correcting unsafe acts/conditions, performing safety inspections and investigating accidents, as required       
  • Directs and coordinates the activities of the electrical and automation/plc function in the plant      
  • Meets electrical engineering financial objectives by forecasting electrical engineering requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions         
  • Plans electrical and automation/plc projects by determining specifications, selecting contractors, establishing installation schedules, planning shut-downs and installations, integrating requirements with architectural and mechanical designs, verifying code requirements and updating cost estimates        
  • Maintains electrical systems by establishing and enforcing preventative and on-going maintenance ·        
  • Supports IT department with project and repairs        
  • Installs and maintains high-speed industrial process equipment for filling/production, lighting, control and PLC logic controls for all production process and control equipment       
  • Directs, troubleshoots, adjusts and repairs electrical equipment, components, and facilities equipment        
  • Assist facilities manager with facilities related electrical troubleshooting and maintenance         
  • Diagnose causes of malfunctions and corrects through programmable logic controls; ensures efficient equipment operation through proper line control programming and proactively suggest methods to improve line performance         
  • Maintains material and equipment supplies by regularly monitoring inventory levels, anticipating supply needs, placing and expediting electrical material orders and reviewing and approving invoices        
  • Initiates, reviews, masters and follows all standard operating procedures (SOP’s) for area of responsibility         
  • Establishes and maintains an employee relations climate of trust and confidence, promoting achievement of plant objectives ·        
  • Supports syrup room and blending operations, maintenance and electrical/automation maintenance        
  • Effectively responds to directions during emergencies by understanding emergency procedures, equipment and systems as necessary; Implements contingency plan to the level required        
  • Complies with environmental regulations when using, dispensing, or handling hazardous and non-hazardous materials and waste       
  • Working closely with Maintenance Trainer and HR to create development opportunities for staff members in combination with competence matrix, check in meetings, performance evaluations       
  • Ensures that employees are following company regulations and procedures and works on corrective actions with HR in case it’s not followed by employees

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR TO JOIN OUR FAMILY?

  • 10 years of progressive mechanical and electrical experience in a manufacturing environment         
  • Experience working with ERP systems and PLC (Siemens)         
  • Ability to apply standard plant engineering and mechanical techniques, procedures and criteria         
  • Ability to handle sensitive and proprietary information in a confidential manner

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:

  • Works in a manufacturing environment
  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to: talk, hear, reach with hands and arms, grasp, pick, lift, stand, walk, and perform repetitive motions. The employee must frequently lift and /or move 50 pounds. The employee is required to have visual acuity to perform an activity such as operate production machines where the seeing job is at or within arm’s reach
  • This position is exposed to occupational hazards, including but not limited to high noise levels, physical obstacles, exposure to chemicals, etc.
  • Must wear appropriate safety glasses, hearing protection, clothing, and footwear in appropriate areas and follow safety practices
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Work Night Shift 4 on 4 off schedule
