Pay Grade:116

 

Annual Salary Range: $89,600 - $132,100

 

The successful candidate’s placement in the salary range will depend upon previous experience in a similar role.  The placement shall not exceed the midpoint of the salary range, which is $110,900 annually.

DESCRIPTION

Manages all technical aspects of Public Works technical solutions – projects of various sizes and complexity to ensure successful delivery and alignment with enterprise-wide, cross-functional strategic initiatives. Communicates with all stakeholders to define success metrics as well as discuss status updates and address risks, assumptions, issues and dependencies of all projects.

 

Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Plans, coordinates and leads teams on Public Works technology projects; from initiation through implementation and delivery of desired outcomes, including the management of scope and schedule.
  • Understand the Public Works technology supporting but not limited to the following areas: Water/Waste Water Systems, Asset Management and Work Order Systems, Geographical Information Systems (GIS), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), Environmental Control and Field Operations (Fleet and Solid Waste).
  • Aligns and gathers requirements using established project management methods. Manages documentation; functional requirements; and reports, flowcharts and diagrams used to meet milestones and track project objectives.
  • Manages project schedules, costs, quality, resources, change requests, risks and issues by developing project management artifacts such as project plans, cost analysis worksheets and risks and issues log.
  • Uses various methods to coordinate communication with all sponsors and stakeholders and provide progress updates and/or other pertinent information.
  • Determines, plans and coordinates training and testing efforts needed for project team members and end-users.
  • Participates in the preparation and analysis of bid invitations, request for proposals and vendor quotes for IT-related services and solution.
  • Facilitates and leads meetings with the project team, stakeholders and IT resources. Prepares and maintains progress, project status and problem resolution reports
  • May perform responsibilities of a similar nature and level as assigned.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Work Experience:

3 years of experience in IT project management, IT business analysis, or related experience.

Candidates must have the minimum amount of work experience. Years of experience are based upon a full-time work schedule (2,080 hours per year).  The sum of an applicant’s full-time and/or part-time qualifying work experience must meet or exceed the stated minimum qualification. Education will not substitute for the required work experience; however, related unpaid and/or volunteer work experience may be used as qualifying work experience. 

 

Education:

Requires the equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in computer science, business or related degree.

The term “equivalent” means that directly related work experience exceeding the required work experience will substitute in equal time increments for college-level education, for example: one year of additional directly related work experience will substitute for one year of college education (30 credit hours).

 

Certifications, Licenses, and/or Registrations:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification, obtain within one (1) year of hire.
