Annual Salary Range:

 

Librarian I: $61,856 - $ 82,577

Librarian II:  $68,277 - $91,150

 

This position is part of a flexible classification.  Qualified candidates may be hired at either level based on their experience, education and training as determined by the hiring authority. This position supports Youth Services programming with an emphasis on story time programming, tween space programming, reading, writing, and math programming, outreach events, collection development, social media and web design, technology support, special projects, and all public service points including youth, teen, and tech desks. This position will be required to work evenings and weekend hours.

DESCRIPTION

This position will oversee Youth Services for the Tempe Public Library under the direction of the Library Manager.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Work Experience:

Librarian I:

One (1) year of customer service experience.

 

Librarian II:

Requires one (1) year of librarian experience, which may include specialty areas as required.

 

Candidates must have the minimum amount of work experience. Years of experience are based upon a full-time work schedule (2,080 hours per year).  The sum of an applicant’s full-time and/or part-time qualifying work experience must meet or exceed the stated minimum qualification. Education will not substitute for the required work experience; however, related unpaid and/or volunteer work experience may be used as qualifying work experience.

 

Education:

Both levels require a Master of Library Science degree from an American Library Association accredited college or university.

 

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
