Logistics Manager – Glendale, CA
The opportunity:
Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in loading and unloading cargo from conveyances such as trucks, and in moving and storing corrugated containers or packaging products. Is also responsible for Transportation to customers and sister plants. Assures that orders of product are delivered to the customer according to the required date and time. Makes sure that product is delivered in good condition according to customer's requirements and specifications.

• Visit the work area frequently to ensure compliance, and discusses safety issues with team. Explains to team that safety excellence is expected and is a requirement of employment. Encourages the team to report incidents, near-misses and unsafe conditions. SWR employees regardless of level, position or tenure are responsible for upholding the safety standards regulations and policies.
• Follows all pertinent ISO 9001 procedures and assures that the activities in the Shipping Department adhere to OCCG's quality system
• Coordinates with Shipping and Warehouse Distribution Center employees and drivers to verify shipment of goods are delivered on specified date
• Communicates with Transportation Company to preclude delays in transit
• Coordinates with outside carrier's deliveries that need to be shipped to customers per their requirements
• Arranges distribution of materials to appropriate departments upon arrival to the Shipping Department
• Inspects products for quality and quantity to ensure adherence to specifications
• Responsible for the operation of company's private fleet of vehicles, including maintenance
• Responsible for compliance with State/ Federal Regulations including but not limited to: DOT, CHP, CA Pull Notice
• Ensure compliance with Union Collective Bargaining Agreement within supervised environment
• Responsible for Talent Development of direct reports
• Responsible for Workforce Planning within Shipping and Warehouse Distribution
• Understand Key Performance Indicators within the Shipping and Warehouse Distribution Center
• Schedule meetings with department to address areas of concern
• Drive Continuous Improvement throughout area of Supervision
• Responsible for Inventory Control accuracy in Shipping and Warehouse Distribution Center
• Responsible for Month End inventory in Shipping and Warehouse Distribution Center
• Drives Cost Savings and Expense Reduction Measures throughout area of responsibility
• Works with Safety Manager to ensure safety rules are enforced
• All other duties as assigned
